Whether you’re a full-blown beauty maven or not, the lipstick you pull out your cosmetic bag can say a lot about you – what kind of personality you have, standout characteristics, or even just your favorite seasonal hue.

But now, thanks to a study done by London Heathrow Airport, that coveted lippy shade you can’t go without represents one more thing: where you live. According to Mashable, the airports used its sales data throughout in-terminal retail shops to track the most-purchased lipstick shades in 50 cities across the world. We’re talking everywhere from the hustle and bustle of New York City to the scenic views of Sydney, Australia.

The study resulted in a “Lipstick Colours Of The Year” report, which showcases each city’s preferred lip shade. And according to the figures, there’s quite a bit of variety when it comes to popular lip colors. Planning a trip to London soon? Make sure you snag a soft caramel nude. Or if Miami is in your near future, a pale rose pink shade will do the trick.
