Editors’ Picks: The Starting Lineup For My Fall Shoe Closet

September is the ultimate transitional month for fashion, so why not work your way from the bottom up? For me, it’s all about fly footwear that will not only compliment an outfit, but standout on its own.

As someone who spends way too much money on heels, I consider myself adept on the subject, so keep reading for five styles every girl should have in her closet this fall.

Heels With Built In Socks

As of late, the typical high heel is being remixed to include built in socks; a genius concept for the cooler weather. I encourage everyone to get a little outrageous with this style. Nasty Gal’s ‘Cut Throat’ Stretch Bootie Heels ($128) are on my wishlist.

Chelsea Boot

As evidenced by the spring/summer 2016 NYFW shows, ’60s mod fashion is making a huge comeback. I’m getting in on the action with a pair of standout Chelsea boots; the style that you can dress up and down. How could you not be obsessed with the electric silver color on these MARY boots ($140)?!

Preppy Oxfords

If you’re not a heels girl, but still want to make a statement, I recommend a pair of heavily embellished oxfords. Jeffrey Campbell is my favorite shoe designer, so these silver brogues ($134) are already on my personal shopping list.

Tall Boots

Whether they be above or below the knee, tall boots are what every girl needs for those unbearable snow days. Flats and wedges are probably the easiest to walk in, so these Chinese Laundry over the knee boots ($79) are an ideal choice.

Fashion Trainers

As of late, I’ve been embracing the classic sneaker, which unsurprisingly adds edge to an otherwise boring ensemble. I already own these Puma Matte & Shine sneakers ($80) in black and white, but now I wish they were blue.
