Jennifer Hudson’s Got a Super-Short New Do, Dakota Johnson Updates Her Fringe and More Star Hair Changes to Wrap Up Your Week

It may have been a quiet week in celebrity hair news, but we couldn’t let a few minor overnight mane makeovers go unnoticed. So check out Jennifer Hudson‘s short new look, Dakota Johnson’s piecey fringe and more, below, to jumpstart your weekend.

Is there a style she can’t pull off? J-Hud revealed a much shorter style on Instagram — and we’ve got to admit, we’re kind of obsessed.

“All black every thang! Who needs hair, when u serving face!,” she said of the reveal shot on her feed Friday morning.

Before going the shortest we’ve ever seen her, the singer wore her hair in a piecey pixie and has played around with her length over the years. But we’re thinking she won’t be going long anytime soon, as she previously told PEOPLE how much she loves her short hair when she first made the chop.

“The hair change is almost as drastic as my weight loss! It feels the exact same way,” she told PEOPLE. “Shorter hair makes me look taller, so I’m still trying to figure that out … If you are gonna wear a different style, you have to wear it. You can’t let it wear you.”

Fifty Shades of Grey star Dakota Johnson switched up her fringe before hitting the red carpet for the HFPA Annual Grants Banquet in Beverly Hills on Thursday evening.

The piecey, uneven set of bangs is courtesy of the star’s close friend and celeb hair stylist Mark Townsend, who shared the quick tress update on Instagram. Before the chop, the star wore her bangs in a blunt cut to pair with her post-Grey bob.

But the social media hair reveals didn’t stop there! Singer Alanis Morissette debuted a short, chic bob in a video on Justin Bieber’s Instagram on Thursday. (Who knew they were friends?)

The star showed off the ombré crop in a funny clip promoting the Bieb’s new single, “What Do You Mean?” And while we’re all about her new cut, we’re still wondering how (and why?!) the two Canadian singers teamed up. You might say that it’s an … “Ironic” pairing. (No, you wouldn’t say that, would you.)
