Julianne Moore, Claire Danes, Allison Williams and More A-Listers Have Been Crowned as Hollywood’s Newest ‘Royals’

In the PEOPLE office, when we talk royals, we’re generally referring to the famous (and seriously good-looking) British family. But W magazine has crowned a new set of royalty — a slew of Hollywood’s most famous faces, including Claire Danes, Julianne Moore, Allison Williams, Jourdan Dunn and more stars — to cover its annual Royals issue.

To be considered a ‘royal,’ W selected a group of the most famous (and well-deserving) group of men and women to reign as this year’s most talented and stylish actors, models and musicians.

Williams and Danes might share the silver screen, but these two stars — both crowned new and classic royals — couldn’t be any more different in their respective TV roles. While Williams plays a young woman trying to “make it” in N.Y.C in Girls, Danes channels a hardworking CIA agent in Homeland. Which is why the glossy tapped the two as the most powerful faces on TV.

“I might be the one who has the most sex on Girls,” Williams said. “I’m like an old pro now. These actors come on the show and they’ve never had sex scenes, and I’m like, ‘I’ll take care of you, honey. I’ll treat you right.’”

But even with all of the awkward sex scenes, Williams says she’s gotten used to close quarters and on-camera nudity — a little more than she originally anticipated. “It’s weirdly easy at this point: Maybe I should be in 24-hour therapy, working on what real love is and what simulated love is.”

For Danes, though, she says her parents could be the reason she takes some of her crazy, on-camera roles.

“My parents had no concern about my psychic well-being, and they subjected me to every — and anything in the culture,” she said. “When I was a teenager, I went to the premiere of Showgirls with my mother. It doesn’t get more inappropriate than that, but I survived.”

But she added that the early push from her parents eventually led her to the career she has today: “I do think there’s something to be said for letting kids decide what they’re ready for and what they aren’t.”

And while Moore was given the title of “Independent Film” royal, there’s no doubt the stylish A-lister could nab the top spot of any fashion-related list (and often does!), thanks to her famous designer friends.

“To me, Tom Ford is royalty. I met him when I was nominated for an Oscar. I’d just had my son, Cal, and I had really big boobs and I didn’t feel like myself,” she told the mag. “Tom made me a beautiful dress, but I didn’t wear it because I felt like my boobs were too big.”

But that didn’t stop the two from growing close, she says. “He didn’t care, and we’ve been friends ever since.”
