Lacoste, known for its preppy polos, is changing it up and serving us a new couture collection inspired by your favorite old-school arcade game.
The French designer label is teaming up with legendary couture embroiderer Maison Lesage just in time for Wimbledon, for a collection for the “real players.” According to Vogue, who landed the exclusive first-look at the collection, it is:
“A series of eight haute couture designs (embroidered with cartoonish crocodiles, Pac-Man-like tennis balls, and occasionally a scrawled graffiti-esque tag reading simply: “Rene Did It First”) were all inspired by the brand’s archives…”
The collection was shot on several models and athletes alike including Constance Jablonski, Laetitia Casta and ballerina Marie Agnes Gillot. Lacoste also released a series of videos to accompany the arcade-inspired designs.

An ode to namesake Jean Rene Lacoste, who was known for his polo shirt on the tennis courts, the Pac-Man designs will also be available in four limited-edition styles, which will feature an embroidered alligator and Pac-Man tennis balls on the collar rather than the chest.
As for why Pac-Man plays a huge role in the collection, it is unclear but we are for anything that will change up the very boring Lacoste polo.
The limited edition polos are only available in a few stores in Paris, London, Tokyo and New York City.
