Lady Gaga Explains Why Her Engagement Ring Is Ginormous (Plus, Every Look from Her Serious Style Streak)

Lady Gaga the musician gave us the meat dress, the egg entrance and the Oscars gown/latex glove pairing. Lady Gaga the actress is a completely different fashion figure. She’s currently on a promo tour for the upcoming debut of American Horror Story: Hotel, and showing off a brand new, super sophisticated style (and even better, she’s talking all things engagement!).

The singer-actress is starring in the latest installment of Ryan Murphy’s FX franchise, and even though the wardrobe for her character The Countess is insanely sexy (and sometimes just insane), her promo tour style is all about elegant, ladylike looks. On Tuesday night she was spotted in a hot pink sleeveless MSGM shift with bow-adorned neckline and blush Brian Atwood heels.
Then she chose a silver off-the-shoulder Monse mini for an appearance on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and despite accessorizing it with sleek pearl-drop earrings by Fallon Jewelry and the same Brian Atwood pumpss, her massive heart-shaped engagement ring was the real scene stealer. After Fallon touched her hand and commented on the size of her rock, she joked that that’s why fiancé Taylor Kinney chose such a unique sparkler: “I think that’s why he got me such a big one, so that if men touch my hand they’d be like, ‘Oh, I feel something!’”

Even her outerwear is getting a refined twist to her usual edgy aesthetic. On her way to the Tonight Show, she covered up with an elegant round-shoulder sleeve, but kept a bit of her rocker vibe in the studded detailing and wide black buckle collar, plus Barton Perreira sunglasses.
She’s not totally tame just yet: She arrived at LAX on Monday in a lacy white gown, featuring a high neckline, cap sleeves and a daring thigh-high center slit. We know she likes to travel in unusual styles (remember her fishnet bell-bottom jumpsuit?) but the glam factor certainly has gone up a notch (or two) now that she’s a Hollywood screen siren.
