#LCM: Margaret Howell Serves Up Minimal Basics For Spring 2016

London Collections Men - Margaret Howell - Catwalk
Sometimes you need a little cleanser. When you have eye catching color palettes one season and silhouette driven collections the next followed by options that come in a wash of different textures, sometimes you want to just take a little break. Sometimes you just need a little palette cleanser. And for that, there’s Margaret Howell.

This season the designer sent down a range of thoughtfully considered, basics. We’re talking button ups, crewnecks, white trousers, navy trousers, and even some denim. Yes some of the trousers came high waisted with belts in nods to the 70s, but we can’t say they weren’t appealing. And yes, the tuxedo style lapels on a regular blazer are an acquired taste we aren’t yet sure we’d like to acquire, but otherwise the collection was a definite winner.

There were some styling options that you might not be a fan of(see: dotted kerchief around neck and socks with sandals) but those are all optional. A line up of light anoraks, roomy shorts and sleek trench coats? Totally necessary!
