Look of the Week: Gigi Hadid at the 2015 CFDA Awards

We’re constantly updating our “Last Night’s Look” gallery with all the best red-carpet moments (gorgeous dresses! dazzling accessories! sky-high heels!). Now, let’s talk beauty. Each week, we’ll be highlighting one of the most gorgeous makeup and/or hair moments, along with details on how to recreate the look — straight from the makeup artist or hair stylist — in our feature, Look of the Week.

Model-of-the-moment Gigi Hadid sparkled in a glittery gold sequin-embellished Michael Kors jumpsuit at the CFDA Awards on Monday night, but her show-stopping onesie wasn’t the only aspect of her look that we’re still obsessing over. We reached out to the star’s glam squad — makeup artist Beau Nelson and hairstylist Jennifer Yepez for Moroccanoil — for all the exclusive details on her gorgeous hair and makeup.

Drawing inspiration from the glittery jumpsuit, the makeup master for Maybelline New York decided Hadid needed an all-over glow to truly radiate on the red carpet.

“I always want to enhance a woman’s best features when I work with them, and Gigi has such beautiful skin,” he tells PEOPLE. “We added a bit of bronzer for warmth and used cream blush sticks to give it a natural glow.”

To get Hadid glowing, Nelson began by applying a blend of Maybelline New York Eye Studio Color Tattoo 24HR Cream Gel Shadow in Bad to the Bronze and Bold Gold (he mixed the two hues together on his hand) to her eyelids, and then used a small eye shadow brush to “diffuse the edges,” creating a blended, seamless shadow. To add a touch of sparkle, the pro added a bit of the Bold Gold hue on the inner corners of her eyes. Then he finalized the look by curling Hadid’s lashes and adding a few flicks of Maybelline New York Volum’Express The Colossal Chaotic Lash Mascara in Blackest Black.

“Using a cream shadow with a lot of pigment is a great way of doing a smoky metallic eye, because there is absolutely no product drop-out at all, like with powder shadow,” he says.

As for the pale pink pout, Nelson went for a “modern take on the nude lip” by mixing Maybelline New York Color Sensational Rebel Bloom in Peach Poppy and Coral Burst, along with a little liner (Maybelline New York Color Sensational Lip Liner in Nude), on his hand. He then tapped the mixture onto Hadid’s lips to get a stain-like finish. “A peachy nude lip is easy to wear and brings life to the face,” Nelson says.

So now that we’ve covered the makeup highlights, let’s talk hair. Like Nelson, Yepez’s goal for Hadid’s hair was to flow with the jumpsuit rather than stand out.

“To complement Gigi’s beautiful Michael Kors jumpsuit, she and I decided on beautiful beach waves,” she tells PEOPLE. “This lived-in style is the perfect accent to this look, and I love that it can last you three days and still look great.”

Yepez continued: “Gigi and I both felt that having [her hair] down and full of body and texture gave it a fun young vibe rather than too done.”

To create those textured, bombshell waves, Yepez began by applying Moroccanoil Volumizing Mousse to the model’s freshly washed wet hair to give it bounce, shine and body to hold the style. After rough-drying Hadid’s hair in sections, Yepez added beachy waves using a 1 and 3/4-inch curling iron in alternate directions. Yepez finished off the look with few spritzes of Moroccanoil Dry Shampoo Light Tones on Hadid’s roots for added texture and volume.

As for the final result, Hadid was instantly obsessed (like the rest of us). According to Yepez, the model exclaimed, “I love it; don’t touch it!” with a giant smile on her face.
