NYPD Gives Fashion Advice On Fanny Packs

Summer is in full swing in New York and with that comes the hectic pandemonium in the form of crime.
Add to the mix that E!’s Fashion Police is on permanent hiatus, and you have the makings of an opening of which New York’s 24th police department precinct is happy to exploit. Taking to Twitter, the boys in blue offered some style advice to anyone who is considering hitting the streets for the third quarter.

As evident by the tweet above, the precinct shared some unsolicited fashion advice about wearing fanny packs. Containing the same sort of cut-and-dry advice you would expect from an officer of the law, the NYPD “critique” attempts to point out the right way to rock the fanny pack. Citing that attire is “hideous” no matter how you wear it, the fanny pack has remained an interest of the NYPD.
The tweet reads: “Summer = Crowds. Protect your stuff. We @ 24 r not the fashion police but fanny packs present a special case.”
Whether you’re a convert or not, the New York Police Department should be focused on assaults on actual people, instead of perceived fashion slights. By designating attention on “hideous” fanny packs, this tweet widens the divide between cops and the people they purport to protect.
In any sense, who are they to judge what is fashionable? If you are worried about people’s safety, then how about stop killing unarmed people?!
