The Converse Chuck Taylor is as American as apple pie; just ask the monstrous amount of celebrities and “normal” folk who have multiple pairs stored in their closet.
In its nearly 100 year history, the iconic design has never been tampered with, despite its slightly uncomfortable flat-footed feel. Well SBs, “hit your hallelujah” because parent company Nike is finally giving the beloved shoe a much needed upgrade–Lunarlon lining, padded collars and microsuede material (above).
Besides the slight price increase ($70 for lowtops, $75 for hightops), we’d say this is the perfect combination of comfort and casual style.
“The launch of Chuck II is a groundbreaking moment for Converse as we continue to move the brand forward through creativity and innovation, ushering in not just a new sneaker, but a completely new way of thinking,” says Converse CEO and president Jim Calhoun.
