Oscars 2015: The Best Red and White Dresses of the Night!

Some trends come and go on the Oscars red carpet, but there are two hues stars love that never seem to go out of style: Bold red and crisp, clean white.

Marion Cotillard stunned in a glimmering polka-dot cutout Dior Haute Couture gown and paired the high-fashion design with Chopard diamond earrings and ring. She rounded out her look with a glamorous updo and a pretty pink lip. While Lupita Nyong’o also opted for an all-white ensemble, her custom Calvin Klein Collection number was designed and covered with more than 6,000 individual pearls and paired with a pair of Chopard white gold 18-carat diamond danglers.

Faith Hill wowed in her sparkling J. Mendel design and a chic pixie cut while accompanying husband Tim McGraw for the night. And wrapping up the “women in white” category, Julianne Moore dazzled in a custom-made Chanel number (created for the Still Alice actress by Karl Lagerfeld), which took approximately 927 hours to finalize. (Yes, you read that correctly.)

And on the traffic-stopping end of the style spectrum: Ladies who chose to wow in shades of red for the night. First up (as always) is Giuliana Rancic, in a sheer panel Mireille Dagher dress adorned with intricate flowers. The TV personality teamed her red ensemble with sparkling Forevermark diamonds. Opting for a slightly darker shade of scarlet is Gone Girl star Rosamund Pike, in a textured Givenchy Haute Couture scalloped strapless gown. Our favorite aspect of the actress’s look? Her matching ruby sandals!

Behati Prinsloo chose a deep red beaded Armani PrivĂ© number — and, saving the best for last, Fifty Shades of Grey star Dakota Johnson wore a striking Saint Laurent column design adorned with a single silver strap. The actress added a classic red lip, a simple (yet chic) ponytail and $2.2 million worth of dazzling Forevermark diamonds to complete her Oscars ensemble.
