Women are showing both sides of beauty, by posting selfies of one side of their face in full makeup, and the other side all natural.

Using the hashtag #PowerofMakeup, women are taking a stand when it comes to negative and shaming comments that are often posted when women show their face before and after makeup. Started by YouTube beauty guru Nikkie’s Tutorials, who was inspired by “Rupaul’s Drag Race,” she wanted women to embrace their beauty, with or without lipstick.

Users from all over Instagram have heard her rally call, and have taken to social media to show their support by sharing their best “face off” selfies.

It is a reminder that unlike Beyonce, most women do not just wake up “like this,” and just because a woman chooses to wear makeup, it is not to cover up but to have the confidence to take on the day.

As Nikkie said, “I notice a lot when I don’t wear makeup and I have my hair up in a bun and I meet people and I show them pictures of my videos… they straight up tell me ‘that is not you.’” So she penciled in her eyebrows, covered up her dark circles and added a bold pink lip.

Check out the gallery below for those women who followed in Nikkie’s footsteps and showed the #PowerofMakeup:
