Praise Hands Emoji: Beyoncé Might Join ‘The Wiz’ Remake

The Beyhive just might be making its way down the yellow brick road.

According to E! News, their leader Beyonce is in talks to star in the NBC remake of ‘The Wiz.”

Mrs. Carter is being considered for the role of Glinda the Good Witch, which was played by Dee Dee Bridgewater and legendary Lena Horne in past versions of the musical. Michael Jackson and Diana Ross also starred in the movie version of the soulful retelling of “The Wizard of Oz.”

While the deal is nowhere near signed in the dotted line, Queen Latifah and Mary J. Blige have already signed onto the production. Blige will be playing the Wicked Witch of the West while Queen Latifah is set to star as the Wizard.

However, if Beyonce does not take the role, there is another name that is being passed around and it is none other than Uzo Aduba from “Orange Is The New Black.” Aduba is also an accomplished Broadway star, starring in Godspell in 2011, so she definitely has the pipes to tackle the role, too.

So, Beyhive, get onto social media and start petitioning Queen Bey to make this happen.
