Royally Stylish! Thailand’s Princess Sirivannavari Debuts Fashion Collection Inspired by Her Grandmother

Royals are no strangers to topping best-dressed lists (hi, Princess Kate!), but when it comes to Thailand’s Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana, she’s not only wearing stunning designs, she’s creating them, too.

The 28-year-old princess, who is the daughter of Thailand’s Crown Prince Maha Vajralongkorn, studied fashion and textiles in the Faculty of Fine and Applied Art at Chulalongkorn University. And she’s been a fixture at fashion shows for years.

In 2007, she was invited by French couturier Pierre Balmain to present her fashion show in Paris. Her collection, entitled “Presence of the Past,” drew on memories of her grandmother, H.M. Queen Sirikit. The following year she presented her own fashion show in Paris. And even when she’s not presenting her collections, she’s a front-row staple at Chanel, Dior and more couture shows.

Now, she’s showing off her latest collection, which is once again inspired by her beloved 83-year-old grandmother, who is known as the “Queen of Thai Silk.”

The new collection, “The Way of Silk, the Way of Thai: A Tribute to Her Majesty the Queen,” includes seven stunning looks made with Thai silk, which is is hand-woven from the cocoons of Thai silkworms, giving it a unique sheen. The princess’s intricate, embellished designs, which came in vivid hues, stunned on the runway.
