Marco Zanini’s tenure at the brand Schiaparelli was sort of fleeting. To be honest, he was only there for a year. As far as rumors go though, it was all very mutual with Zanini not being a fan of his station and executives not being pleased with his work. Hopefully, the announcement of their new design director will find two parties more on one accord.

Betrand Guyon will take over direction design work. This comes after a slight lapse that saw the brand being designed by an in-house team with no named head designer. But Guyon, brought on after designing for Valentino as well as a part of teams at Christian Lacroix and Givenchy, will be the one taking a bow at the end of presentations now.

Guyon hopes in ways to be a Zanini 2.0. Zanini was known for paying pretty heavy homage to the founding designer Elsa Schiaparelli in his work. Guyana, likewise plans to respect that heritage. But he also hopes to forge a new way, a modern take, which will likely land him in the good graces of the execs who felt that’s where Zanini was lacking.

Until his debut though, let’s take a look back at Zanini’s work.
