What Andy Warhol would post if Instagram was around in his day? It would probably include a lot of intimate shots of his famous inner circle — if these never-before-seen photos in a new coffee table book by the artist are any indication.

The ‘visual diary, Andy Warhol, Polaroids 1958-1987 showcase famous faces in candid shots, showing them in a very different (slightly less “glitzy Studio 54”) light.

There’s Audrey Hepburn chilling on a paisley-print couch, wearing a floral dress and looking remarkably laid-back — not at all like the cold fashion queen she’s often portrayed as.

Dolly Parton has a close-up shot with hair that, well, looks exactly the same as her hair today (hey, the lady knows what she likes).

And a slew of fashionable faces are featured, including Yves Saint Laurent and Bianca Jagger, posing close together in their summery accessories. Others in the book include actor Jack Nicholson, artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, singer Debbie Harry and a few self portraits of Warhol himself! (What do you think his favorite filter would be?)
The book is available next month and is published by Taschen.
