Serena Slam: The Style Evolution Of Serena Williams

Serena Williams is on the verge of becoming the greatest tennis player of all time. After dismantling Maria Sharapova 6-2, 6-4 in southwest London, she is on her way to the Wimbledon finals.

Williams, 33, hasn’t lost any matches since May 2014, and at major tournaments, she’s taken only one L in the third round at last year’s Wimbledon. With one win away from completing her second “Serena Slam” — which means she won four Grand Slam tournaments in a row, Serena will just have the US Open left to complete the first calendar-year Grand Slam since Steffi Graf did it in 1988.

As we anticipate her battle against Garbine Muguruza — a 21-year-old who hadn’t advanced past the second round — the ultimate tennis star is going to finish her career as one of the most dominant players ever. Since starting her professional career in the mid-90s as a teenager straight out of Compton, California, Williams’ fashion choices have ranged from the surprising to the sublime.

Without any further ado, here’s an appreciation of Serena Williams’ style evolution.
