For seasons now people have been saying “menswear is the new womenswear”–which, like the phrase “pink is the new black,” is probably more focused on the growing significance of menswear than actually replacing the importance of one with the other. And increasingly, brands like Marni are putting their money where mouths are.

According to Women’s Wear Daily, Marni, who has partnered with the likes of H&M before (above), just entered into a partnership with Tomorrow London Ltd, an international sales platform, to help expand their menswear collection starting with their Fall 2014 collection.

Marni menswear, which is currently available at about 90 locations around the world–Saks Fifth Avenue, Selfridges, and Le Bon Marché among them–was founded in 2007 and is expected to see an increase of anywhere from 250 to 300 points of sale through this partnership.

“We strongly believe in the potential of our men’s wear line, and Tomorrow will help us expand in an international market, similar to our women’s division,” said Marni chief executive officer Gianni Castiglioni in an interview with WWD. “We are counting on Tomorrow to penetrate department stores around the world and expand in Europe and the U.S., for example.”

Tomorrow, which already works with brands like Derek Lam, Basso & Brooke, Jonathan Saunders, and Umit Benan, will act as a worldwide partner selling the men’s collections of apparel, accessories, and shoes.

As a part of the expansion, the brand will open a menswear flagship in the Meatpacking District in New York City, as well as a men’s boutique in Shanghai, China in 2014.

This announcement seems in line with Renzo Rosso’s announced plan for Marni since he took a majority stake via his Only The Brave holding company back in 2012. With control of other fashion houses like Maison Martin Margiela, Victor & Rolf, and Diesel, Russo said via the 2012 press conference “Marni represents exactly the concept of fashion I would love to see associated with OTB – a style that’s unique, recognisable, individual, fresh and modern; an international outlook.”

Russo went on to say that he planned on reintroducing the brand in foreign markets.
