At some point following her husband’s second term Michelle Obama deserves a style retrospective. There’s no ifs, ands or buts about it. It can be in the format of a museum, you guys can cull together a coffee table book, in fact it would be best to just do both. But when a First Lady combines fashion forward, body appropriate and classic all together on the regular, paying attention to both new and established designers a like, she deserves a bit of recognition of her own.

There are a few designers now who owe a bit of their notoriety to FLOTUS. Think Prabal Gurung, Jason Wu and even Thakoon. No she an’t claim their success wholly but the “Mobama Effect” is definitely alive and well and designers cherish the ripples they see caused by it in their businesses.

Here we lay out just 1 stylish moments — OF MANY — FLOTUS has had while in office. This is definitely on the tip of the iceberg!
