The grunge aesthetic has a certain type of allure. It’s not innately glamorous but it can be. It’s actually quite an accessible aesthetic for those who know how to pull it off, having to ultimately do more with styling and mood than with labels and materials. So when we saw the new Wildfang Club collection campaign, shot in the woods of portland with a proverbial band of models of all shapes and sizes, we were pretty much in love.
The thing about grunge is that you can easily take what you have and sort of make it into a grunge inspired look. This Wildfang Club collection is sort of classically grunge with a modern, slightly clean update. Their team was inspired by Marc Jacobs campaigns of the 90s and took 16 Portlanders and tastemakers out into the woods for the campaign. The collection itself features graphic tees, button ups as well as sweatshirts and a tank. The range is the first time the brand will introduce its own crest that symbolizes the ‘Wildfang Club,” a secret society.
If you’re familiar with the brand you know that they are really tomboys at their core — as told most simply by a tee with TOMBOY in bold letters. So expect looser fits, bold graphics and a strong but subtle color palette. The collection has the perfect hoodies and layering options for the coming fall weather!
