‘Vogue’ Wins #TBT With This ‘Seinfeld’ Tribute

This week marks the debut of the entire Seinfeld series on Hulu and it seems just about everyone is celebrating. After what seemed like an eternity of negotiating, Jerry and Larry David settled on a $160 million acquisition for the streaming site, second only to Netflix when it comes to snagging shows that ignite nostalgia.

The “show about nothing” has had an undeniable impact on television and music (see Wale’s “Album About Nothing”), but who knew Seinfeld and his crew were style icons?! Vogue Magazine recently teamed up with Andreea Diaconu and “F*ck Jerry” creator Elliot Tebele to recreate several moments between Jerry and Elaine Benes, played by the seemingly ageless Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

Although the 24 year old model dons her signature floral frocks, penny loafers and oversized blazers, all of the ’90s centric pieces are actually from current collections; how innovative! Likewise, Tebele is also dressed in updated versions of Jerry’s Nike kicks, “dad jeans” and button down shirts; a look we’re glad is out of style.

“Being in that room, being dressed up as him, acting the scenes straight out of the show, I honestly felt like I was him, for, like, a moment,” Tebele told Vogue. “It was weird.”

Additionally, the undercover high fashion shots are actually in GIF form because honestly, how else can you accurately recreate Elaine’s infamous shove or doorway dance? If this Throwback Thursday winner isn’t enough and you also live in New York City, Hulu has an interactive model of the series’ apartment inside Milk Studios’ Chelsea location.

See more info here and all of the GIFs in action here.
