We Can’t Wait For These Chanel X Monster Headphones To Come Out

Monster headphones are looking to make a strong comeback in 2014 since Beats Electronics ended their partnership with the company last year. With the help from Swizz Beats, who purchased a co-ownership stake in the company, Monster is looking to regain their share of the market from competitor Beats by Dre, and what looks like a coming high-end collaboration with Chanel could help them get the buzz they need for a fresh start.

The headphones made their debut at Chanel’s Fall/Winter 2014 supermarket show a week ago, and people have been speculating about their release ever since. Swizz Beats posted photos on his Instagram of himself and Karl Lagerfeld sporting the styles after the show, captioning the photo seen below with, “HISTORY HAS JUST BEEN MADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Clearly, something big is in the works, and we’re guessing that the ‘history’ in question is that this marks Chanel’s first ever audio-collaboration.

The Chanel headphones look similar to Monster’s N-Tune headphones, whose market retail value is about $170. Of course, the Chanel version will definitely cost a pretty penny, but still, our ears are feeling so lonely without them.

Considering how model Ming Xi wore them on the runway, not on her head but rather around her neck like a necklace–Karl and Swizz wore them the say way–we’re wondering if this is a trend we’ll be seeing more often. With fashion it-girls turned DJs like Hannah Bronfman and Harley Viera-Newton on the scene, it might not be much of a stretch.
