Wearing the Victoria’s Secret Fantasy Bra 2015 Is ‘Such a Special Experience,’ Says Lily Aldridge

The unveiling of the Victoria’s Secret Fantasy Bra — or the U.S. version of the royal jewels — is an event every year. How did they top themselves this in 2015? Well, there were fireworks surrounding the announcement. Not literally (that would be dangerous) but even better: ones made out of precious gemstones.

Lily Aldridge, 29, will be modeling this year’s firework-themed bra (valued at $2 million and comprised of diamonds, blue topaz, yellow sapphires and pink quartz and set in gold by jeweler Mouawad) when she hits the runway for the brand’s over-the-top show. And though she’s following some very glam and high-heeled footsteps — last year’s was worn by two veteran Angels — she’s not at all intimidated.

“I’m not scared, I’m super excited and I’m anxious to just get on the runway and wear it and be in that moment,” she tells PeopleStyle. “Some of the girls who have worn it in the past are just like, ‘Enjoy every moment of it.’ It’s such a special experience and I’m really excited.”

She found out in July that she’d be modeling the bra — after all, “this is actually a custom body cast and they cast and then they build the bra around you,” so it takes some time — but hasn’t been able to tell anyone but her husband until now. “He was so proud, he was so excited. He sent me flowers,” she says of husband Caleb Followill’s reaction to the big news.

Aldridge will be hitting the runway without pal Taylor Swift for the first time in a few years, and though her absence will be missed (“She’s always there in spirit!”) another member of the Swift squad is joining her onstage: Gigi Hadid. And according to Aldridge, Hadid doesn’t need any pro tips before getting her wings.

“She is going to be so amazing on the runway,” Aldridge says of Hadid. “She such a beautiful soul, beautiful girl and she’s going to be amazing. I’m so excited she’s there!”

With soon-to-be seven shows under her belt, Aldridge is an old hand at this, which means she’s already well-versed in the best way to celebrate another successful Victoria’s Secret fashion show. “My favorite ritual is eating pizza after the show,” she says, laughing. “It’s fun!”
