Yas! A New Makeup Craze That’s Way Easier Than Contouring

Photo: InstagramConfession: I have never been a huge fan of contouring. While I think it’s cool to downplay and amp up your facial features, the process to get there is entirely too complicated and stressful on the skin. From heavy highlighters to deep bronzers and globs of eye makeup and brow powder, it’ll take a huge chunk out of your morning routine and sometimes melt off by the middle of the day!

Thank the makeup gods because there’s a new technique to play with, just in time for summer. “Strobing” is basically a way to accentuate the highlighting part of your routine. Concentrated on parts of skin that naturally attract sunlight (bridge of nose, cheekbones, brow bone, inside of eyelid), you’re applying a light cream, pressed powder or actual highlighting product to those areas for a luminous glow.

Combined with a base primer, serum foundation, poppin’ lip gloss and bronzer, you’re bound to look sun-kissed and dewy without spending one minute on the beach. We’ll definitely circle back with a tutorial, but in the meantime, keep reading for some Instagram inspiration!
