Your Week Will Not Be Complete Until We Discuss These Outfits on Jessica Chastain, Kerry Washington and More

If the changing leaves and dropping temps weren’t indication enough that summer was over, the fact that celebrities have finally left their yachts and started bringing the style heat should do it. So many stars hit red carpets looking terrific, we decided the only way we could relax this weekend is if we rounded up our faves.

First up: Jessica Chastain at the London premiere of The Martian. Her night sky-evoking Elie Saab gown was perfect for her role as an astronaut in the film, but it was her Piaget High Jewelry earrings that were truly out of this world. Chrysocolla plates were surrounded by diamonds, emeralds, aquamarines and tourmalines for a jaw-dropping jewelry statement possibly unparalleled on the red carpet this year.

Next on our “to discuss” style sheet: Kerry Washington, who almost gave Selena Gomez a run for her money with her outfit changes this week (Selena emerged victorious, with a whopping 13 different looks).

From left: She wore a black Giambattista Valli dress with a spray of yellow daisies with black floral-detailed Christian Louboutin heels and Monique Péan jewels while out in N.Y.C.; red Giambattista Valli and floral-detailed Paul Andrew pumps (plus the same bracelets) was her look of choice for Good Morning America; a plunging, shimmery shift with sheer hem for her Purple Purse Event; a relaxed denim look with a floral Mary Katrantzou shell, silver T-strap pumps and Selin Kent earrings for a visit to SiriusXM; a Ji Oh leather crop top and Dorothee Schumacher floral skirt (anyone else sensing a floral theme here?) plus a new-for-her high ponytail braid for a stop at AOL; and finally, a Balenciaga cocktail dress and Anne Sisteron Jewelry for her appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. We were tired just typing that, so we wouldn’t blame her if she were wearing slippers and drinking wine à la Olivia Pope right about now.

Also making waves on the style front: Claire Danes, who wore a feminine red eyelet Oscar de la Renta gown with Kurt Geiger heels to accept her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame; Jessica Alba, whose white party dress tied with a big bow in the back and was accented with Pearl Collective jewelry and Eight Fifteen heels (worn to a launch of the Honest Company’s pop-up shop at The Grove); and Kate Bosworth, whose rich red lip was almost as enviable as her suiting-inspired Dior dress with a modified peplum and AS29 ear climbers. (If you’re more into the lipstick than the dress — and we can’t blame you, since we can’t afford the dress — you can get it by layering Dior Addict’s “Too Much #951” on top of “Gotha #967”, a look designed to “mimic the variants on tones in a pomegranate,” according to makeup artist Pati Dubroff.)

And finally, if you’re looking for some celeb style inspiration that’s a little more dressed-down, we liked these three jacket-centered outfits on three very different stars. First, Selena Gomez, who (in one of her 13 looks) wore J Brand from head to toe, then added sexy Casadei heels and a pretty fedora to give the look some sass. Anne Hathaway emulated her fashionista boss from The Intern in a cool black-and-white outfit involving an Akris blazer, Zimmermann polka-dot tank, Michael Kors shades, a Saint Laurent bag and Jimmy Choo platforms. And Cara Delevingne went totally tomboy-cool in a black cropped jacket, multi-buckle boots and a slim tie while out in Milan (inspired, perhaps, by fellow Mango model Kate Moss?).
