How to Make Shampoo Without Sulfates

What You’ll Need

  • ¼ cup of distilled water
  • ¼ cup of castile soap
  • ½ tsp. of vegetable oil
  • Measuring cup
  • Whisk
  • Plastic bottles

Directions

  1. Pour ¼ cup of distilled water into a large measuring cup. Add ¼ cup of castile soap to the distilled water.
  2. Combine the two ingredients together with a whisk. Stir in ½ tsp. of vegetable oil.
  3. Perform a final mixing with the whisk to combine the vegetable oil with the distilled water and castile soap. Pour the contents of the measuring cup into a plastic bottle.

Warnings

Do not forget to label your shampoos after preparing them. Use a waterproof marker to write directly on the bottle, or purchase waterproof labels.

Tips

  • Choose plastic bottles with squeeze tops for easy application.
  • Add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to the homemade shampoo to create a pleasing scent.
  • Castile soap is available in grocery stores, pharmacies and online.
