When Rita Ora isn’t promoting her latest single, “I Will Never Let You Down” or chilling on Roberto Cavalli’s yacht, the 23-year-old songstress is showing off the threads from her latest collection with Adidas. Like Pharrell, Ora’s first collection–the “Black” collection–will drop this later summer (August 21) and is based off of Ora’s London look. The “Pastel” and “Colorblock Packs” lines follow on September 4, as well as the “Spray” and “Roses” collection on November 1.

The beautiful Brit who worked in a sneaker store as a teen says working with Adidas was a “cool” experience, and that they first approached her with the idea in September during New York Fashion Week. The result from this merger is an edgy yet feminine collection that will include a leather jacket with glow-in-the dark tooling, a reptile-embossed leather and wool jacket, and prints and colors based on the singer’s dove tattoo.

“I studied all of their shoes and their archives from the past 50 years,” Ora told WWD of the time she spent in Adidas’ headquarters in  Herzogenaurach, Germany. “Before I started, I wanted to meet the team that was going to do it with me. So I did a performance at their Christmas party and met everyone. I was there for four hours going through a mood board, seeing what they have, what they don’t have and bouncing back and forth with ideas. From there on, literally we’d meet every two weeks for a five-hour meeting.”

The collection sounds like something not to be missed for those who crave tomboy style with girlish elements. Still, Rita is not too quick to call herself a designer. But she did tap into her inner creativity, “I always come from the approach that they are designers and I am an artist,” she said. “The biggest advice  [Adidas] said is to be yourself and be confident in what you’re doing and confident what you wear. When Jeremy [Scott] did Moschino and I was like, ‘Wow, aren’t you worried that McDonald’s will sue you?’ he was like, ‘You can’t worry about that stuff — the shocking things sometimes are the best things and what people want to wear.’ You have to be brave and do what you like. I think my fashion will represent that.”
