Sophia Loren, 81, on Plastic Surgery: ‘You Can End Up Looking Worse’

Sophia Loren has been in the spotlight for a long time. And with her red carpet vet status, comes a lot of knowledge. And the 81-year-old actress has some advice for younger stars when it comes to aging gracefully.

“These young girls really need to be more careful and selective of what they are doing to their bodies and their faces,” she told Page Six. “I mean, you do not know for sure if you are going to a good doctor … you can end up looking worse than what you thought you originally were.”

She also adds she believes celebrities today are more concerned with taking selfies than practicing their skills in front of the silver screen.

“In my time, an actress’ merit and skill was based on her talent. Now when people meet me, they pull out their phones to take pictures,” she said. “I do not know much about social media, but it seems that that’s what makes people more famous. My era of Hollywood was much better — you were known for your skill and talent.”

Hmm. Now we’re wondering how she feels about the Kardashian-Jenner crew.
