Jay-Z to Give "Surprise" Free Concert in Times Square (@s_c_)

Jay-Z will be adding yet another dimension of hype for his upcoming new album, “Magna Carta Holy Grail,” as the New York Post reports that Hov is planning to give a concert on top of the Ed Sullivan Theater marquee on July 8th for the “Late Show With David Letterman.”

Sources tell the Post that the Roc Nation boss is still seeking approval from the Mayor’s office, but the show is likely to get the green light.

“If he gets permission from the mayor’s office, it’s going to be off the hook,” said a law enforcement official. “They’ll have to shut down Broadway around the Letterman building. They’ll have to have a strong police presence. It’s going to be chaos with so many fans.”
