15 Reasons We Will Be Copping Carine Roitfeld For Uniqlo

Carine Roitfeld is a force. If Anna Wintour represents all that is the mainstream fashion industry, deftly managing high fashion and the industry at large in a way that appeals to the largest contingent of people, Roitfeld is her opposite. It’s not about fashion for the masses, it’s about a very specific woman. A woman that has a French sensibility, that wants to look sexy and loves the idea of fantasy, especially when it comes with a good deal of black.

She’s a woman who is more than a bit conscious of personal style and now, she’s a woman that Uniqlo is hoping to court.

Uniqlo has tapped Roitfeld — formerly of Vogue Paris and Tom Ford’s Gucci — to design a 40-piece collaboration due out this October. The current Harper’s Bazaar International Fashion Editor will be taking her hand to both RTW and outerwear for the retailer’s LifeWear line which is marketed as every day clothing.

What we can expect from Carine’s own personal style? A lot of black, feminine, sculptural riffs, and an emphasis on the pencil skirt.

Take a look at the slides to follow to see what things may look like if Roitfeld pulls inspiration from her own closet.
