While you were bumping Tupac Shakur’s “Ambitions of a Ridah,” celebrating the Golden State Warrior’s Game 6 NBA Finals championship — Pitti Uomo 88 kicked off in Florence, Italy. Fresh off the heels of London Collections, men of all walks of life came out in full force for the international men’s fashion trade show.
Pitti Uomo, for those that don’t know is all about color. Tonal shifts and blends that are steeped in sartorial style, the language of color is the way to speak to anyone who attends the cherished and wildly popular event. This summer, Pitti Uomo 88 will showcase the trends for spring/summer 2016, with guest designers Moschino and Thomas Tait present.
Stylish savants such as Sam Lambert and Shaka Maidoh from Art Comes First, Brooklyn Circus’ Ouigi Theodore, and hat guru Joseph I were all presence and showing off their respect swag. As Tait will put on a special event Wednesday evening, there are a host of new sections that help to embolden the event to the masses. From “Open,” which defies distinction to dictate a precise kind of style to “Unconventional,” which will showcase the most vibrant voices in the area of luxury underground style — Pitti Uomo 88 will be one to remember.
With the theme for this year’s show being “That’s Pitticolour!”, Pitti Uomo 88 is an example of how to floss and style without being support lavish.
