A Transgender Modeling Agency Is Coming Soon

Continuing on the trail that Caitlyn Jenner, Laverne Cox and Andreja Pejic blazed, the first transgender modeling agency will be opening in California.
Trans issues have been center stage in recent months so it is fitting that a Thailand-based known for representing trans models will be setting up shop in Los Angeles.
According to The Advocate, Apple Model Management is looking for more transgender male and female clients to add to their roster.
“We see trans individuals as beautiful,” said L.A. agency director Cecilio Asuncion. “Our strong commitment to developing them as successful models is never about quantifying or qualifying their gender. It’s never a question of if they are women or men, it’s about their passion and commitment to being the best possible models they can be.”

Applications are available here, and the agency is looking for trans women who are 5’8″ and up, and men who are 6′ and up.
In our recent interview with Andreja Pejic, who was just named the face of Makeup Forever, she spoke of the difficulty surrounding her transition.
“For most of my childhood and early adolescence, I was forced to live the life of a boy.,” she said. “That made me very awkward and shy but I eventually became more confident so by expressing my feminine side to myself, it was very freeing. Once I figured out how to stay true to myself, and to transition, I never looked back. I realized that transitioning to a woman was the only way for me to live a fulfilled life and to be truly happy. It was a choice of hiding or being bold and being myself.”
Hopefully, this trans modeling agency will be the doorway for many to be able to express themselves, and be who they truly are.
