Beyoncé Set To Receive Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award At 2014 VMAs

It will truly be a night dedicated to the Beyhive, as Beyoncé will be the center of attention at this year’s 2014 MTV Video Music Awards. In addition to performing, sans husband, she’s been nominated for eight awards AND is set to receive the coveted Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

Past winners of MTV’s highest music honor include Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Madonna and the King of Pop himself.

Leading the pack of nominations, Blue Ivy’s mommy has a lot to be excited about– because her life isn’t exciting enough. The show comes right in the middle of her month-long break from the On the Run tour, that resumes Sept 12 in Paris. No word on if and how Jay Z will be involved in all this MTV praise, but we’d hope he’d be there by her side to support.

The 2014 MTV Video Music Awards airs Sunday, August 24, at 9/8c ET at the Forum in Inglewood, California.
