It’s hard to believe BirchBox has only been around for five years.
The company that paved the way for beauty boxes has developed into a (fashionable) household name, has a brick-and-mortar location in SoHo and boasts 1 million subscribers. But alas, they’re taking things up a notch this Friday, Nov 6 when they open up a beauty shop experience in Washington D.C.
Partnering with fellow buzz-worthy company, Rent the Runway, BirchBox will have its own beauty shop in Georgetown, located at 3336 M Street NW. “Birchbox has a large subscriber base in the DC area and our customers want to look their best, but don’t always have time to navigate the latest new products and trends,” said Katia Beauchamp, Co-Founder and CEO of Birchbox. “Together with Rent the Runway, we’re able to offer a one-stop-shop edited with the very best in beauty and fashion. It’s designed to bring delight to discovering new product by having an easy and efficient shopping experience.”
So what is this “experience” you ask?
Visitors can curate their own (newly designed) box at the Build Your Own Birchbox (BYOB) station, buy already made boxes and get their makeup done. It’s essentially a given day of fun with your girlfriends.
