If you’re an avid TV watcher, chances are you’ve seen Bresha Webb somewhere. Her acting resume includes a slew of award winning series, including Weeds, Grey’s Anatomy, Hung and Private Practice. Additionally, her comedic chops were put to good use for four seasons as “Imunique” on TV One’s Love That Girl and a highly publicized try out for Saturday Night Live.

This week, audiences will be re-introduced to the blazin’ beauty as she stars in NBC’s new half hour comedy Truth Be Told. Acting alongside Tone Bell, Vanessa Lachey and Mark Paul Gosselaar, Bresha portrays Angie–the feisty pediatrician with quirky tendencies and strong opinions about everything; from race and sex to other subjects that might be considered taboo. It’s a role tailor made for Bresha’s infectious energy and bubbly demeanor.

“We all come from four different backgrounds, so the conversations we have together; we’ll share with the creator [Will Packer],” she tells us of her cast mates. “So we have very direct associations with the topics that we cover.”

Although she and her fictional counterpart share a lot in common, Bresha also draws inspiration from fellow women on the small screen; including gals like Kerry Washington and Taraji P. Henson who are leading the charge for more black roles in television.

“I’m so excited to be a part of it,” says Webb of the WOC renaissance.  “My dream was to be on a network show and I always wanted to see a part of myself reflected on television.”

She continues:

“I love Lucille Ball. My dad made me watch her and I became obsessed. Tisha Campbell on Martin; I feel like Angie is a new version of Gina. And I absolutely loved Tracee Ellis Ross on Girlfriends. If you were black, on television and I could see a reflection of myself in you, I loved it.”

For those wondering if working with the “Zach Morris” is a full circle moment, Bresha says it pretty much is (we’re so jealous).

“Absolutely,” she answers when I asked if she watched Saved By The Bell back in the day.

“I wanted to be Kelly [Kapowski] and Lisa Turtle. I had a poster of Zach Morris in my bedroom.” Unsurprisingly, Gosselaar is a joy to work with.

“He’s a family man and to see him love his wife and children is just something that makes me think, ‘wow–you really are just a normal, down to earth person.’ I think people are going to be blown away by his portrayal of Mitch.” she adds.

SBs, be sure to watch the premiere of Truth Be Told this Friday, October 16, at 8:30EST on NBC! And keep reading to see how Bresha fares in our Blazin’ Beauty Quiz:
