You can always find a store near you by using a directory like TheThriftShopper.com. But the real key is knowing when to shop so the inventory is at its peak. The changing season usually means people are getting rid of the pieces that no longer serve their closet. And since most people make donations on the weekend, hitting stores on a Monday or Tuesday can yield great results. And did you know thrift stores have sales? Well, they do! Every store is different, but certain days are half off and sometimes particular garments are discounted. I once scored a pair of Hudson jeans for $2 from my local Goodwill. Call ahead to find out what the daily sales are. This gives you savings on top of already affordable goods.
