Kacey Musgraves Has Lavender Hair (Blame Those Unicorns Again)

The last time Kacey Musgraves’s hair had us in awe was when she wore a huge bouffant to the 2014 CMAs. (If you don’t know what we’re talking about, trust us, you wanna click.) But today the brunette country singer might have topped herself with a major new hair look — a purple/pink pastel.

The star showed off a lavender shade with a close-up selfie on Instagram, sans caption. But judging by her posts leading up to the big change, we can gather a bit about her inspiration.

Three days ago she posted a photo of a unicorn with pink locks, running through a field of pink grass.

Or maybe it was even this chilled pink drink she posted celebrating the weekend. (It was so hot and that looks so refreshing, it really makes sense to use as hair change inspo.)

And of course, there was this photo of Li’l Kim sporting her own set of purple strands … which were, of course, a wig, and Musgraves’s might be as well.

She joins the summer pastel club which includes Kelly Ripa’s rainbow changes, Debby Ryan’s watermelon mane and Rita Ora’s similar light pink strands which she just debuted at the VMAs this past weekend. And if it was, in fact, a unicorn that inspired her new look, she’s in good company — Julianne Hough had the same idea earlier this year!
