Chris Evans Shaves His Beard Off (Cue All the Tears!)

Ladies (and gentlemen), please take a moment to stare longingly at Chris Evans’ glorious, bushy beard. (We’ll wait.) Because as of right now, that perfectly groomed, super-manly facial hair is … gone. Completely gone. And it was the actor himself who broke the news to fans.

After taking clippers to his promo-tour scruff, the Avengers: Age of Ultron star took to Twitter to share the news with his followers. “Dear beard, We had a good run, but this is where I leave you. Thank you for braving the Boston winter with me. I miss you already #Cap3Begins,” he said in the Tweet, referring to his upcoming (and clean-shaven) title role in Captain America 3.

But before you start a full-scale social-media campaign to get the beard back, remember: This doesn’t mean the beard is gone for good. Who knows, maybe his famous facial hair will make a comeback once the weather starts to cool down again? For now, all we can do is look back at old photos while playing Sarah McLachlan songs, and if you do too, we’re here for you.
