There’s no need to feel embarrassed because we’ve also weathered the woes of a not-so desirable twist out or ill-prepared protective styles; marley twists and box braids included.

If you aspire to achieve fluffier curls, more defined twist-outs and overall healthier hair, this week’s “Curl Talk” is all about the basic beginner tools. Keep reading for our SB-approved top 10 list.

A Satin Turban

Turban EditedA lot of people will suggest getting a bonnet, but a satin turban is often a lot more beneficial for naturalistas.
