Emmy Nominee Julie Bowen Spills All About Her ‘Claire Hair’ on Modern Family

Do you consider yourself a die-hard Modern Family fan? Have you seen every episode? Even so, we doubt you’ve seen this side of the show: inside the hair and makeup trailer! Julie Bowen, who plays the high-strung, overprotective mother Claire Dunphy, is giving fans a behind-the-scenes sneak peek of what happens in the glam van. Catch the clip below!

In the short one-minute clip, Bowen gets Modern Family-ready with the help of her on-set glam squad: makeup artist Stephanie Coffey and hair stylist Kelly Kline.
“This is Stephanie,” Bowen says, introducing the head of the makeup department to the cameras. “She’s in episode 6.12 as one of my Facebook friends. In real life, I don’t like her at all.”
The actress adds: “[Stephanie] paints the Claire right on me.”

Bowen also introduces Kline, who’s the head of the hair department, and lets fans in on a little secret surrounding Claire’s signature blonde bob: It’s faux!
“Kelly Kline gives me Claire hair, which some is fake,” she confesses, showing off her blonde clip-in extensions. “Right there, see this part — it clips in, clips out. It’s fake!”
