Hollywood Stylist Jessica Paster Takes Us Diamond Shopping for Her Emmy Nominated Clients!

We love watching all the glam dresses that hit the Emmys red carpet, but we really love keeping a carat count tally of all the mega jewels the stars wear. And stylist Jessica Paster has been very busy picking out jewels for her clients, Ellie Kemper, Aubrey Plaza and Lena Headey. All three actresses just happen to star in some of the biggest nominated shows (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Parks and Recreation and Game of Thrones!), which means they’re bound to bring it on the red carpet. So we asked the top Hollywood stylist to take us with her on a jewelry shopping trip to the D’Orazio & Associates showroom, where she viewed (and tried on!) millions of dollars worth of Harry Kotlar platinum jewelry. Basically, Paster experienced every women’s fantasy.

Will Ellie hit the carpet in one of the diamond cocktail rings above? It’s possible. (That photo features 39 carats worth of diamonds retailing over $1.6 million in case you were wondering.)
“I think the jewelry should complement the dress and vice versa,” Paster tells People. “If you have heavy earrings and a necklace it might be too much. Let’s have one statement from the neck up since it’s best to tell one story. I like consistency. I love jewelry and don’t shy away from it. I like to have fun with it, but I don’t want it to be the you’re forgetting about the woman who’s wearing it.”
As for the popular ear climber trend that’s all over the red carpet right now, Paster says it’s important to mix the look with a classic ear stud.
“If you have an ear climber make sure to include a classic platinum and diamond stud as an ear jacket in the back,” she shares. “This will look gorgeous with your formal dress. I like to use platinum jewelry for evening events since it makes the look chicer.”
