Emmys 2015: From Kiernan Shipka to Tatiana Maslany, See the Ladies Who Rocked Pants on the Red Carpet!

For award shows, we expect celebs in gorgeous gowns and custom couture creations, but for tonight’s Emmy Awards, five of Hollywood’s hottest stars –Tatiana Maslany, Jane Lynch, Sophia Turner, Kiernan Shipka and Carrie Brownstein — left their dresses at home for chic tailored trousers.

The Orphan Black star stunned in a Bouchra Jarrar Paris two-piece suit, featuring a plunging ivory smoking jacket and matching pants, which she teamed with a pair of black strappy satin Sophia Webster sandals and a chic, slicked-back ponytail.
Lynch also opted for a similar color palette, selecting a blazer with black detailing and black trousers, accessorized with a sparkly Carrera y Carrera diamond necklace and sensible-heeled shoes.

Turner went bold in a strapless velvet blue-and-black Galvan jumpsuit, which she teamed with a dazzling diamond necklace and a pair of open-toed sandals. (One of our favorite looks from the star yet!)
Shipka, who’s on this year’s People Style Best Dressed list, went for a playful yet sophisticated ensemble: a Dior Couture creation, featuring a pale yellow off-the-shoulder peplum top and a pair of sleek black pants, accessorized with jewels by Dana Rebecca Designs.
The 15-year-old told People Style on the arrivals red carpet that the fashion house sent over a few options, but the pants were by far the most “comfortable.” (And we don’t doubt her red carpet reasoning!)

Brownstein kept things classy in a black-and-white suit with cropped pants and classic black pumps. She accessorized the two-piece with a sultry red lip and a matching clutch.
And lastly, Emmys vet January Jones eschewed her usual daring gowns for a green Ulyana Sergeenko jumpsuit featuring a sweetheart neckline.
