What do Elvis Presley, Amy Winehouse and Justin Bieber have in common?

Along with being huge pop stars, the trio are also defined by their signature hairstyle. From Elvis’ slicked back quiff to Winehouse’s beehive and Bieber’s shaggy do, hair played an important role in their career and image, and according to a recent poll, they have some of the most iconic hairstyles in pop history.

While Elvis and Amy were “top of the mops,” Bieber’s hair was voted a flop. The poll, which was conducted by Thorpe Park Resort and tallied the votes of 1,500 music fans, looked at the most iconic hairstyles and just how influential a pop star’s hair truly is.

Rounding out the top five with Presley and Winehouse was Bob Marley, David Bowie and Lady Gaga’s hair bow. Joining Bieber in the “hall of shame” was Sinead O’Connor, known for her buzz cut, and Jedward, a British pop duo which earned the title of “worst haircut of all time.” More celebs with hated hairstyles include Miley Cyrus, Cyndi Lauper and Ed Sheeran.

Other interesting finds in the survey included the fact that one in five music fans have changed their hair to reflect their favorite pop star, and that more men than women have admitted to copying a celebrity’s look.

Not surprisingly, 42 percent of men revealed that they spend less than one minute a day maintaining their hairstyle.

So who else made the list for iconic pop hairstyles? Check out the gallery below for the top of the mops:
