We switch out our wardrobes when the warm weather approaches and change our summer beauty products to accommodate the cooler weather. So, why haven’t you done the same for your skincare products? We know it’s hard to stay grease-free and glowing during the warmer weather, but your skin doesn’t necessarily need all these things when cold weather arrives.

For example, those with combination skin might trade their lightweight moisturizer for product with more hydration and a thicker consistency during winter. At the same time, those with larger pores begin dialing back the harsh fillers and primers.

Combination Skin

Combination skin types typically get oily in their T-Zone (the space between the forehead, eyes, and nose) and dry out around their cheek and mouth areas.

During the summer, those with combo skin try to keep their oils at bay while giving the skin the hydration it needs. That normally means a lightweight moisturizer, cream or gel substance that won’t grow too thick or heavy throughout the day. However, dry patches can become more dry and scaly from the cold weather. Try switching to something that says “intensive moisturizer” for those drier days.
