Jhené Aiko Captures ‘Soul of Summer’ With Latest Clothing Line

Jhené Aiko likes to put soul into everything she does. It’s a common theme in her music and now it’s even a part of her new clothing venture with Neff Headwear and Pacsun.
The clothing line is called “Soul of Summer,” and it’s open for shop in stores and online. This marks Neff’s first womenswear collaboration with an artist.
“It’s just really me,” Aiko told Elle magazine of her clothes. “It’s all about my love for summer.” The collection is full of loose, comfortable items and printed tops. The petite beauty developed an affinity for loose clothes out of necessity. “I’m so small, so it’s hard for me to find things that fit me. As I got older, I started liking looser things because it was easier for me to find things that fit. “
It turns out that loose clothing is actually a better fit for her personality, too. “I find flowy [styles] to be complementary to my vibe,” Aiko expressed.
The decision to team up with Aiko was easy for Neff, which has collaborated with Snoop Dogg, Disney and Steve Aoki in the past.
“We are really excited to be working with Jhené, an artist who is so inspirational to today’s generation. Her free spirited personality and style perfectly encapsulates the Neff brand. Together, we’ve created easy-to-wear pieces that are both feminine and fun – making this the perfect summer collection,” says Shaun Neff, CEO and founder of Neff.

For her fellow petite shoppers, the Souled Out singer has some advice: “The tailor is your best friend! It is worth it to spend an extra $20 to get something hemmed so that it can be personalized to your size. ” She adds, “Also for a small girl: Don’t be afraid to hit up the preteen section either!…I’m 27 years old, but I know it fits me, so…”
The “Soul of Summer” collection is reflective of Aiko’s personal spirituality, including several New Age motifs that fans might be used to seeing in connection with the star, like moons and lotus flowers.
“There’s a tank with the moon and a Buddha and that’s actually the back tattoo that I have. So that one is personal.” She revealed that the design is a dedication to her brother who passed away in 2012.
In addition to New Age motifs, you can bet the Soul of Summer has a wide range of sizes to include petite ladies.
