Lady Gaga Gives More Bridal Vibes in Her Latest Photo Shoot

Lady Gaga might have bridal brain. After wearing her most classically elegant look to date (an ivory Vivienne Westwood gown that, we’re just saying, would do great double duty as a wedding dress), she’s now posing in white frills and a veil. Although her latest getup is more “Like a Virgin” wedding than “bridal couture” — well, when it comes to Gaga’s wedding, you never know.

And speaking of Madonna, the star would like to clear up once and for all that she’s not looking to fill Her Madgesty’s shoes. “I always used to say to people, when they would say, ‘Oh, she’s the next Madonna.’ No, I’m the next Iron Maiden,” she says in the #7 issue of CR Fashion Book, which was shot by famed photographer Bruce Weber. “Those guys were filling stadiums, and they still are. And it’s because of the culture of the music, the poetry that’s so powerful, that whenever the fans come together they unite in the essence of what Iron Maiden is all about.” (And that would explain the tee she’s wearing in the non-wedding lingerie photos below.)

She has said that her wedding dress will be all for her fiancé, Taylor Kinney, and she reveals in the issue that much of her music is for him as well. And sometimes, it’s only for him. “Sometimes I feel like, even with my fiancé, I’ll tell him I feel a certain way, but then he understands me better if I create a song and play it for him,” she says. “I wrote a song for him the other day and it really sat with him because it was something I couldn’t say with words, only through song.”

And though she’s taken a turn in her style to the more traditional, don’t look for Gaga to transform into your average pop starlet. “As a 29-year-old girl, at this stage in my pop career everybody goes, ‘Oh she’s getting old,’ and everybody’s so worried about having a perfect body, a perfect face and perfect hair,” she says. “When, you know, actually, legacy and longevity is about having some sort of story and footprint to leave in the world when you die, chasing your talent until you’re dead. And that, as an artist, you love your art ’til death. It’s the antithesis of what I was taught growing up, which is that at this age I would have to fight in order to continue to look young, in order to continue to be trendy. When, you know, I never was trendy. I was always anti-trend.”
