#LFW Runway Recap: Emilia Wickstead Delivers A Classic Dream For Fall 2015

Wes Anderson, the American film director and screenwriter, sparked Emilia Wickstead’s imagination for Fall 2015. And coming from a designer who always incorporates a retro punch, it was slightly surprising to see her clothes embody classic dreams this time around.

Models baring a pastel color palette (hues from nude to egg blue to lilacs) showed off wide sleeve coats, midi length full skirts, plunging necklines and detailed peplum structures. But Wickstead’s girly aesthetic didn’t keep her away from usual vintage technique.

From then on we were introduced to the designer’s world of print – one that included rusty tartan and geometric patterns. Architectural prints on sheer silk were paired with the perfect striking red hue, while tartan looks were accompanied by a surprising element of black patent.

A favorite from the collection would have to be the effortless jumpsuit – which is quickly becoming a signature for Wickstead. Simplistic touches were added to some with buckled fabric belts that gave her separates the chic detail many women yearn for.
