Liz Earle Haircare

Are there any beauty-lovers who don’t have a soft spot for at least one Liz Earle product? I can’t imagine so, as there’s something so wonderfully pure and simple about the Liz Earle range; it delivers high-quality products that don’t intimidate or overwhelm with crazy claims and even crazier ingredients.  The Liz Earle ethos is perfectly depicted in their range of hair care, which, quite simply, involves everyone using the same shampoo (dubbed the Cleanse and Polish for hair) before picking one of the three conditioners depending on hair type, then we all finish with the same hair oil.

The Botanical Shine Shampoo is designed to be used by all hair types and is a light yet thorough hair cleanser.  It feels and smells lovely and leaves hair feeling fresh and clean without feeling stripped – there is no squeaky cleaning here (just a sign that your hair has been stripped of oils) and the formula is also sulphate-free.  The three Botanical Shine Conditioner choices are Normal Hair, Dry or Damaged Hair and finally Fine or Oily Hair, the latter of which is the one I have.  So many conditioners for fine or oily hair types are so light they verge on pointless, but this one is very conditioning; once applied hair feels satiny, silky and easy to comb through, then when dry hair feels light and soft without a flyaway in site.  This is a truly brilliant haircare duo for anyone who wants an easy, natural shampoo and conditioner set.

The Botanical Shine Nourishing Hair Oil can be used on either wet or dry hair and is a wonderfully scented concoction of natural oils that leave hair feeling soft without any grease, so it’s a product suitable for all hair types.  If used on damp hair, it claims to speed up drying time; I haven’t tried this claim out myself so I can’t comment, but I have instead used this to tame ends and stop them looking too dry, which is especially useful if you like a mussed-up, textured look but don’t want hair to look dry or in bad condition.  This isn’t an essential for me as I’m not much of a hair oil person, but I do have quite a few hair oils in my kit and this is the one I’d reach for more often whenever I want to tame tricky ends.  The full Liz Earle Hair Care range is available now, with the shampoo and conditioners costing £10 each, whilst the hair oil is £17.25 here – link.
