Met Gala 2015: Kylie Jenner’s Afterparty Outfit Probably Won’t Land Her an Invite Next Year

Celebs plan all year for the Met Gala, undergoing months of high-level dress intrigue and designer selection, custom consultations, subsequent fittings and the final styling sessions for the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala. And then there are celebs who attend the afterparties with their red-carpet-going family members and throw on whatever they found on the floor of their closet.

Kylie Jenner, 17, attended Rihanna’s Met Gala afterparty with sister Kendall, 19, in a very Coachella-friendly outfit not often seen at parties attended by society ladies and the editor-in-chief of Vogue. She first started with a triangle bra and boy shorts, then added a completely sheer crop top edged in Moschino labels and topped it all off with a pair of cutoffs that are more “cut” and “off” than anything else. Black heels, a quilted handbag and her signature lip look all were finishing touches. Her model friends appeared to approve:

Though Kylie’s look was one of the more memorable afterparty moments, plenty of other stars ditched their red-carpet attire for something more casual. Jennifer Lawrence, one of the night’s hosts, attended the Met Gala in a Dior Haute Couture gown with a floral yoke and metallic bib, and changed into a sexy silver Galvan slip for Rihanna’s bash.
