For the Alon Livne spring 2015 collection, the designer’s inspiration came from “the post modern architecture of Michael Havemeyer and underwater creatures.” There were plenty of the sculptural techniques in the spring line he’s known for (he’s also designed for Beyoncé) so naturally when it came to nailing the nails, a similar shape was in order.
Lead manicurist Holly Falcone for KISS Products, Inc. mimicked the collection’s architectural shapes and futuristic feel with a pointed almond shape nail with a glittered silver tip and thin white line. Keep your eye on this shape because as Falcone tells us, “lines and shapes will definitely be a huge trend to watch for spring 2015.”
Wanna snag the look at home? Here’s the step by step:
Prep:
•Select the correct size imPRESS medium length nail to fit each nail and set aside in order.
•Prep nails with the prep pad to remove all oils and lightly buff around the cuticles.
•Peel off and press on imPRESS.
Shape:
•File nails, tapering to a point at the tip to create the desired pointed almond shape
Design:
•Paint over the white French tip on the imPRESS nail with the KISS Nail Artist Paint in silver, leaving a thin white line at the top.
•Finish with KISS quick dry top coat and all to dry.
